Beautiful writing.
Well read and acted and funny at right points. I hope there are more as think it's building up and obviously these guys have years of experience to call on. Great first effort leaving me wanting more!
Highly recommend this enjoyable read! The world created is rich and evocative, the characters are delightful individuals and the story grips you. Anyone who appreciated The Hobbit / Lord of the Rings / Game of Thrones / Harry Potter etc will relish this book. I was fully immersed and now want to know what happens next!! Please publish volume 2 soon.
This is a great read - great story/plot, strong well-written characters whose motivation is clear, convincing. I really enjoyed this and look forward to the 7 following books (Phew!). A must for fans of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones!
The voice work was amazing. Can't wait for book 2!
This is a great Tolkein-esque fantasy novel, written from the perspective of Balladir the Bard, lore keeper for the elves. Because of this, the writing style is almost poetic and gives the feel of an epic poem to passages of the book, which I find an interesting and fitting take for the fantasy genre.
This story has the classic fantasy chronicle feeling. The comforting 'storyteller' way that the main character Balladir the Bard delivers the story easily lulls you into an epic fantasy world. The world building is rich and easy to get into, and you can see the D&D influences with a medley of diverse and interesting characters, I particularly liked Bretz-eye!
